Misfits
By Howard Overman
Entertaining British series about a handful of juvenile delinquents who end up with super powers. The characters are predominantly stereo types from British cultures, which makes for some very amusing television, especially if you've ever lived in the UK.
Fringe
By J.J. Abrams
This show seems to be The X Files for a new generation (though maybe doesn't have the same cult following). Strange happenings, missing people, and alternate dimensions dabbling in "fringe science".
Eureka
By Andrew Cosby & Jaime Paglia
A fun little sci-fi show with very endearing characters about a top secret science / research based town and the happenings there.
Lie To Me
By Samuel Baum
Intriguing TV series about a consultant expert in lying. May not sound super exciting, but it's fantastically intriguing and the characters are brilliantly written and played.
True Blood
By Alan Ball
Fantastic vampire show, though certainly not typical. While being based on a book series, it deviates a little, which I enjoy. The characters are absolutely fantastic!
