If I had been a victim of crime, I would probably hate this show, but, as it is, I love it. If you stopped watching a few years ago when the scriptwriters stupidly wrote in a fire that killed most of the key characters and then made the show imitate any other soapie, you need to start watching again. Today's characters are just as well developed as those of old, and the plots are realistic and absorbing. And it has the comfort of the familiar, not unlike Maccas I suppose.
