Straightener is a Japanese band I luckily stumbled upon in a CD shop in Nagasaki. They play melodic grungy-alt rock - nothing pretentious, and unlike other Japanese bands, they don't sound like a carbon-copy of US bands. They go about their business of creating great songs with minimum fuss.
