Clever high school romance on one hand but also a very (personally) resonant exploration of one girl's boarding school experience. The riches! The temptations! The crippling lack of self-esteem!

Impossible to describe as nothing will do it justice. A man suffers a trauma and reacts by setting up his apartment building as a living drama, all scripted by him. Moments are repeated over with small cast, costume, etc changes and he tries to get closer to ...

Told from the perspective of a five-year-old boy who, due to his unusual home-life, has an unusual perspective on the world and an accelerated vocabulary. What's going on in this novel is heart-breaking but, because of the viewpoint, it also manages to be sweet and inspiring. A similar sort of impact to The Lovely Bones.

An ordinary, fairly apathetic girl starts seeing extraordinary things that motivate her to try interact more with the world. It's very whimsical and quite a nice post-teen coming of age type of story. Didn't last long on telly unfortunately so there's only the one short season on DVD.
