V

Didn't watch it back in the 1980s. Saw it last week. Ace. In the mood for an alien invasion mini-series which mixes allegorical fascist lizard people with big hair, shoulder-pads and tight white jeans? Bingo.
In Treatment Season 2
By Various
Only watched two episodes (of 35). Hasn't started as sharply as season one, yet has sufficiently reworked the initial premise to warrant a second outing. Tor those who didn't see Season One, this intimate HBO drama stars Gabriel Byrne as a psychologist. Each episode is a counselling session, involving different clients (or his own shrink, played by Dianne Wiest). Top acting; top scripts; top insights into people. Holding out hope for this second season.
Bored To Death
New HBO series starring Jason Schwartzman, Zach Galifianikis and Ted Danson (newsflash: he's AWESOME) about an author with writer's block who becomes a low-rent, small-time private detective. Hitting DVD in December. Check it. Well, when it comes out.
